Eurovision 2008

Eurovision is finished and the winner is Dima Bilan with his song named “Believe”.

I’m bit late with comments on this year’s event, but maybe it’s better because I find out one thing that I don’t agree with so it will be nice blog entry.

Domain renewed

One year passed from my joining at DDBoard.com and I have one domain right now (maybe I’ll try to administrate one more in the future). It’s this blog - World of Vladimir.

In the beginning, I really didn’t think that this offer for free domain is true, because I was tricked with two sites who offered “free” domains, but I decided to risk and I don’t have any remorse to this decision.

And now, I managed to renew my domain for another year, so www.worldofvladimir.com will be in my proparty for two years now. And all thanks to DDBoard.com and William (weblord)…

Thank you so much for this.

If you are searching for free TLD (Top Level Domain) you can get your own in three simple steps.

1. Register at DDBoard.com
2. Collect 3000 points. You earn 5 points per post and 15 per thread, but there’re a lot of DDpoints exchange (you complete some offer for some user and user donates you points)…
3. Request your domain on the forums.

Believe me, if you’re interested in Web Design and Programming you can easy get 3000 points, otherwise, I recommend you to do user offers for DDpoints.

Good luck :)

Orienteering in Block 70

Like I said before, I started to train orienteering this year.

Today I had one more race, in New Belgrade, Blok or Block 70. It was sprint and I needed to run 3,0 km. It wasn’t very hard and because I’m still beginner, I made two small mistakes (on control points number 12 and 17) which cost me some time, but I had 20 minutes at the end. It’s quite good. First one had 14 minutes, so that means just 6 minutes after first one, and if I didn’t make mistakes I’d be even better. I just need more experience and to get some physical form, and I will accomplish that when I get back to waterpolo training at the beginning of June.

Tomorrow I have one more race also here in Belgrade, in Cerak neighborhood, it’s also sprint 2 km long, and I’m hoping for some nice result. We’ll see…

I drove my bike to the Block 70. 21 km from my home, took me about 50 minutes. Captured while driving bike.

Sava River, the start was here.

And this is orienteering map of Block 70.

Eurovision Song Contest 2008

I’m very proud to say that my city is this year’s host of Eurovision Song Contest. This contest will gather 43 countries. So 43 songs will be competing and the audience will decide which one is the best. Can’t wait, I always loved this show.

Now, because Belgrade is host, the tourist already came here. An hour ago, while waiting for my bus, I saw one bus saying “Posebna vožnja” or “Specal ride” in English and then I noticed small banner of Eurosong. It’s some bus which will be driving tourists through Belgrade. I’m so excited, don’t know exactly why, but I am ;-) A lot of people will come to Belgrade in these 5 days.

The semi-finals will be held on 20th and 22nd May, and the final on 24th May 2008.

What I read in newspaper, I noticed that Russia, Armenia are one of the favorites. Also, there are the chance for Serbia to win again and I think that this will be the first time that one country win two times. We’ll see.

Visit official homepage for more info about songs, artists and events, and Serbian site can be found here.

Only 4 days until this show.

New look

I’ve noticed that my site didn’t get so much visitors and that’s just because of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) so I decided to change theme (because previous one was buggy with Meta tags and all other things that goes under SEO). I installed theme called Vidyal created by Sadish (I think that his themes are the best for SEO, I realized that at this site, where I’m administrator). And also I added one plugin which will help me a lot. It’s called “All in One SEO Pack”. You can download it here. It has all that one site need to get better rank in Google or any other search engine. I’m hoping that this will help me in my way to became world known blogger :-D I’m just kidding, but it will organize my site better on Google server.

What else is happening in my life?

Well, blogging-by-email isn’t working, but I’m going to fix it as soon as possible. School is bit hard these days because it’s almost end of school year and I need to study harder.

About blog! I don’t have much time, because of above reasons and its hard for me to type in English, so I need time. But summer is almost here, can’t wait! Sea, friends, clubs… A lot of subject to blog about :-)

I’m slowly becoming blog and blogging addict ;-)

Parlamentarni izbori u Srbiji

Posting by email

I’m trying to make my blog post-by-email available but I have a lot of problems with this option. This is first reason why I didn’t post anything for about a month. Second reason is school, of course. I have problems with my marks and I’m spending less time at the computer, which is nice. I need your help now.

Does anyone maybe know how to translate MIME encoding into UTF-8 format? When I’m sending emails through mobile phone they are sent in MIME format. If I’m sending emails through browser on my mobile emails are normal but have famous Gmail line breaks after 79th letter (like in this one). I really don’t like this so can anybody help me?
